Theme Scope:
- Whakamohio – improved understanding of what plant biosecurity challenges are for Māori and how they can prepare and respond to new and invasive threats to the taiao
- Whakamana – By Māori, for Māori – Maori led research programmes with outcomes that benefit the taiao and whenua.
- Whakahono – integrated programmes of work utilising both western and mātauranga knowledge
- Tiakitanga – to enhance the role of mana whenua and tangata whenua as kaitiaki
- Underpinning all research will be mātauranga that identifies and utilizes traditional and or contemporary knowledge stand alone or as an adaptive or integrated solution.
